What is eGenderTest™?
eGenderTest™ is a safe, non-invasive At-Home Early Gender Test that will tell you if you are expecting a baby girl or baby boy as soon as 6 weeks of pregnancy. The test is based on the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in an expectant mother’s bloodstream. Our Early Gender Test utilizes quantitative real-time PCR to detect the presence of cell-free fetal male DNA in the expectant mother's whole blood. If a woman is pregnant with a baby boy, she will have a small amount of fetal male DNA in her blood. If no fetal male DNA is detected, then the baby is a girl.
eGenderTest™ uses Dried Blood Spot (DBS) technology for sample collection that is much less invasive than traditional wet blood draws, requiring fewer drops of blood, while making it easier to store and transport, as the Dried Blood Spot samples can be mailed internationally at room temperature and do not require refrigeration or special handling. eGenderTest™’s Dried Blood Spot technology enables DNA samples to be stable for long periods of time, safely preserving and protecting DNA sample quality from degradation during the transporting process, even if it takes several weeks for the samples to arrive at eGenderTest™ Central Laboratory located in San Jose, California, USA.

What are the steps to the test?
1. Order your eGenderTest™ At Home Collection Kit online. We'll ship an Early Gender Test Collection Kit to you free of charge – free shipping is valid for US-based domestic orders only.
2. Follow the directions provided in the eGenderTest kit. Everything you need is provided in the kit: alcohol wipes, lancets, blood collection card, pouch, and step-by-step instructions.
3. Confirm your Eligibility Testing Date by using our Early Gender Test Eligibility Calculator before collecting the sample.
4. Return your required samples in a self-addressed envelope provided with the kit. We pay for shipping your DNA samples back to our in-house lab for processing – free return shipping is valid for US-based orders only.
5. You will be notified by email as soon as your lab test results are available – within 1, 3, or 5 business days from receipt of your samples, depending on the package you choose. Log in to your online account and view your baby's gender results.
When can I take the test?
You must be at least 6 weeks into the pregnancy to take the test. After confirming your pregnancy, count exactly 6 weeks from the first date of your last menstrual period. Use the Eligibility Calculator to determine your eligible testing date.
Can I order the test before I am 6 weeks pregnant?
Yes, you can order the test anytime, but you must wait until you're eligible to collect the samples. The laboratory will not process samples collected before 6 weeks into your pregnancy.
Do you provide lab testing services to customers outside of the United States?
Yes, we ship eGenderTest™ collection kits and provide lab testing services to international customers outside of the United States. Our dried blood spot technology enables us to safely collect the DNA samples from anywhere in the world. We serve residents in Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and other countries around the world, except China and India.
